Employee Benefits

The City of Granite Shoals offers the following employee benefits:

  • Medical insurance for full-time employees. The city pays 100% of the employee medical insurance premiums (the employee is responsible for any dependent coverage; monthly premium is a payroll deduction)
  • Worker’s compensation insurance
  • The city participates in Social Security
  • Membership in Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS)
    • The city matches 7% employee contributions at a rate of 2:1; vesting period of five years.
  • Vacation and sick leave
  • 13 paid annual holidays; 1 paid Personal Day, available to full-time employees, in good standing, employed for six months or longer, approved in advance by Department Head.
