Property Tax
The City of Granite Shoals contracts with the Burnet County Central Appraisal District for appraisal of the property within the City and tax collection. Questions regarding your property tax bill should be directed to the office of the Chief Appraiser, Stan Hemphill. 512-756-8291

Sales Tax
Granite Shoals collects sales tax at a rate of 8.25%. The State of Texas receives 6.25% and the City receives 2.00%. The 2.00% sales tax collected by the City is allocated by ordinance 1% to the General Fund and 1% to the Street Maintenance Fund.
Hotel / Short Term Rental Tax
The rental of short-term housing is taxed at 7.00%. Short Term housing includes Hotels and other short-term rentals such as personal homes and apartments.
